The Panthers are down against a 10–14 spread, and have failed to cover in two straight games after a run of four consecutive covers that included heavy wins over Drake and Bradley. Overs for the Panthers are 14-10, and three of their last four matches have come under total betting.

Full-Game Side Bet
This is a talented Missouri State team that has played great basketball recently, which has improved significantly since January 8 when it lost its first one-on-one meeting against Northern Iowa. With the Panthers’ defensive issues on display in a big way against Loyola Chicago last weekend, they can’t be relied on to hold steady against upper tie MVC teams like Missouri State.
Led by the excellent Mosley-Prime duo, this Bear has a broadly high range in offense, placing 22nd in kenpom efficiency with excellent shooting numbers everywhere on the court and very low turnover. It’s going to be a challenge to a northern Iowa defense that allows for an ugly 53 effective field goal percentage for the season, and the Panthers’ Prime and Clay’s strengths are a bit short to draw on.
Picking up upsets over the likes of Drake, Bradley and Loyola Chicago while playing MVC alone, the Bears have generally been strong on the road for whatever reason. Missouri State’s better balance will make a difference on Sunday, as it is better than northern Iowa in efficiency on either side of the ball.
Prediction: Missouri State +1.5

These teams went past this number in the first meeting, and with both offenses ranking in the top three in efficiency during MVC play, there is no reason to think it would be any different. Northern Iowa is solid in most aspects of the offensive, ranking 91st or better in effective field goal percentage, turnover rate and free throw rate, and can put up some big scoring numbers as well because it takes a high amount of three.
One key would be that these are two of the best nine teams in the entire country to shoot from Charity Stripe, and they combined to 35/43 in the first meeting. The game comes at only an average pace, but after the two teams combined for 1.30 points per possession in the first meeting, this would not be enough to keep it low.
Prediction: over 144
